A man has been taken to hospital after his van collided with a lamppost, causing chaos on a main Preston road.
The incident happened at 4.30pm on Friday at the junction of Blackpool Road and New Hall Lane, near the Hesketh Arms pub.

A section of Blackpool Road had to be closed to allow it to be removed, causing rush hour tailbacks on the busy stretch.

A spokesman for police said the driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was slipping in and out of consciousness.

A doctor, who had stopped at the scene, was treating him at the roadside.

He had suffered no other injuries. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

Brilliant reporting, have you read the third paragraph?
A section of Blackpool Road has been removed!

I wonder what they have done with it?

They meant the van to be removed not the road. Are you Notlob or Noblob?

redceltic, I am sure that Notleb knows what the reporter meant, but the paragraph is grammatically incorrect. What the reporter meant is not what he wrote.

"You need to get a life, lighten up and learn to have a laugh."

From someone picking through a website to find errors, that IS ironic!!

Hello number 5, I take it you are a pal of number 2 then?
What chance do kids have, learning to read and write when qualified reports can not put sense into a paragraph.
Is it any wonder adults/children can not write, spell or put paragraphs together when they read reports like the one in question.
Anyway, what are you doing nitpicking through letters that are seven days old.
Get a life!
