Busy Preston road reopens six days early

A main road through Preston has reopened.
Drivers have experienced delays in the Riversway area for the past few weeks while engineers refurbished National Grid power lines above the road.

But the restrictions on the A583, between the junctions with Nelson Way and Blackpool Road, were lifted on Friday – six days ahead of schedule.

Engineers will again return to Riversway between July 2 and 15, from 9.30am until 3.30pm each day, to complete the final stage of the works.

Why was this not all done in 2007 when the bridgeworks and various other road works where done. They had six months to do it all then.

Why has nobody fined these people for not co-ordinating?

And while I'm on about it, how come they aren't fined for leaving roadworks signs all over the place when they have finished.

How long do we have to have signs saying, new road layout and new traffic priorities. If you use the road you soon catch on. If you don't use the road often, you wouldnt know the difference. Bet the signs cost £150 each, waste of money.

minnow all the work was not complete in 2007 when the bridge was complete for safety reasons! then the curb outside the two cottages were lowered a couple of month ago.
