A student from the University of Central Lancashire has died on holiday in Ibiza.
Will Johnson, 20, died on the Mediterranean island early on Sunday morning.

Officials said Will's death was not being treated as suspicious but they would not confirm the cause, saying a post-mortem examination would be carried out in Ibiza.

A friend of Will's, who did not want to named, said: "We are in a state of shock.

"He was such a lovely lad with so much to live for. This is absolutely terrible for his poor family. His mum and dad doted on him."

Dance music fan Will had just finished his second year of a retail buying course at UCLan. He had started a job at Selfridges in Manchester in April.

Will was formerly a pupil at Byrchall High School and St John Rigby College, both in Wigan. He was also a member of the Wigan-based Willpower Youth Theatre for many years, joining in the mid-1990s.

Will's parents Alan and Jane, of Low Bank Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, are said to be devastated by the news.

Some family members and university pals were understood to have been in Ibiza with him since Thursday.

Friends of Will from UCLan flooded social networking site Facebook with tributes to the popular student.

One said: "RIP Will, u will be missed by everyone." Another commented: "Will, cannot believe it - love you, mate", while an another pal added: "I think it puts life in perspective - RIP."

A Foreign Office spokesman said consular help had been provided to Will's family with funeral arrangements, repatriation and other matters.

He said: "There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death and the police are not investigating it.

"There will be a post-mortem examination in Ibiza and then the coroner back in the man's home town may decide to do another one."
