Preston's star winger Ross Wallace has put club before country to feature in the play-offs.
PNE's talented playmaker has withdrawn from tonight's Scotland B international against Northern Ireland to prepare for Friday's play-off first leg.

Wallace, who missed Sunday's cliffhanger with QPR through suspension, is expected to go straight back into the side to face Sheffield United at Deepdale.

The former Scotland Under-21 international was called up by George Burley for the B squad last week and had been hoping to use the opportunity to push for a full squad place for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

You have to applaude Ross for putting the club first. I hope Burley doesn't knock him back down the pecking order for doing so, it's not like it'a an important international.

Wallace's guile allied to the guts shown by the lads on Sunday will go a long way to blunting the Blades.

I don't make predictions. Never have done, never will do.

Do any of you lads know if the away goal rule still doesn't count in the play-off's?

For all those interested the referees for this weekend are as follows:- Andre Marriner at Deepdale and Alan Wiley at Bramall Lane.

This really annoys me...we spend all season with Championship refs (for better for worse) and then when it comes to the crunch we get these Premiership show ponies....look at Phil Dowd (usually one of the better prem refs) at Brum.

Only potential positive thing is that maybe Prem-based refs might frown on the dirty stuff....Mr Morgan et al.

Is the fact I can't seem to remember anything about Mr Warriner a good sign??
