Work is almost complete on the outside of Preston North End's new Invincibles stand at Deepdale.
Contractors are close to finishing the external parts of the £6m stand, with the roof structure now in place.

Work is expected to start to develop the inside of the stand in the next few weeks.

Named after the all-conquering North End team of 1888/89, the Invincibles stand is on schedule to be ready in time for next season.

It will seat around 4,500 fans and include executive boxes and hospitality areas.

It will bring the capacity of Deepdale to around 24,000.

Does anyone know whether they will be putting the 'away fans' in the new stand. It would make sense to have the home fans in both ends behind the goals to improve atmosphere, safety and access to decent viewing positions for season ticket holders.
Plus the away fans would get soaked when it rains!!

it would be nice to think that the away fans would be placed in that stand.

Although i really doubt it as i dont think putting away fas behind the home dugout would be a very clever idea.

I'll bet our impoverished neighbours from the other end of the M55 are green with envy at the way Deepdale is shaping up. It is a Premiership class stadium for a Premiership team in the waiting. I am so glad I was born in Preston and not Blackpool :-)

Nothing happening down at Bloomfield Road still :-)

i'd love them to be in that stand, but i dout it because people have payed thousends of pounds for box's, and probly don't want to be sat behind dingles and donkey lashers. and cocky cotneys.

Also what good would it do to have two empty stands behind the goals? Appreciate the sentiment though, it would be nice if we could have two packed stands urging the players forward.
