Local ace Imran Aswat played a starring role in the Aegon GB Pro-Series at South Ribble Tennis Centre.
More than 200 international players turned out for the tournament in Bamber Bridge.
And Aswat produced a shock victory over third seed and world No.348 Roberto Marcora in the second round of the indoor men’s ITF singles.
But the teenager from Whittle-le-Woods could not repeat the feat and was knocked out in the quarter-finals by seventh seed Tom Farquharson.
Dutchman Anton van der Duim was the eventual winner of the $10,000 men’s singles with a 7-6 6-2 victory over world No.194 and fellow countryman Thomas Schoorel.
Lancashire tennis star and world No.229 Naomi Broady was knocked out in the quarter-final of the women’s singles by seventh seed Carina Witthoeft.
Czech international and former Wimbledon junior champion Kristyna Pliskova – third seed at the tournament – won the $25,000 women’s ITF final after beating Cagla Buyukakcay.
British player Tara Moore and her Russian partner Marta Sirotkina won the women’s doubles title after beating Timea Bacsinszky and Kristina Barrois 3-6 6-1, 13-11. Tournament director Gabriella Hay said: “South Ribble is an extremely welcoming venue for the fans and players.”
