Bamber Bridge go in search of their first win in four games tonight when they welcome Trafford to Irongate.

Neil Crowe’s men were on the receiving end of a 3-2 defeat at Cammell Laird on Tuesday, despite taking the lead midway through the first half.

Trafford are going great guns in the NPL First Division North. They are currently placed second in the table – three points behind leaders Skelmersdale United.

On Saturday, they enjoyed an excellent 3-1 victory over Burscough, with ex-Chorley winger Shelton Payne scoring a hat-trick.

AFC Fylde and Kendal Town will do battle this evening for a place in the final of the Lancashire FA Trophy.

The Coasters are the firm favourites to progress, especially after their earlier cup exploits this season which saw them reach the first round proper of the FA Cup.

Burscough have won the NPL First Division North fair play award for January.

Phil Bradley, on behalf of the league’s management committee, presented Linnets manager Derek Goulding with the award before the match against Trafford at Victoria Park at the weekend.
