Some of the county’s best young netballers battled it out at the weekend in a tournament held at Albany Academy.
Staged by Chorley Inferno Netball Club, the Lancashire competition attracted 49 teams of different age groups and more than 200 girls.
Inferno performed well on home soil as two of their teams emerged victorious in the Under-10s and Under-12s age categories.
The rest of the competition was dominated by Ribble Valley, who were crowned champions at Under-11s, 13s, 14/15s and 16s.
Other clubs which competed were Wyre, LSA, Preston, West Pennines and Blackpool.
Inferno chairwoman Nicola McIntyre said: “On the day there was one match in particular which had everyone on the edge of seats.
“The Under-12s final between Inferno and Ribble Valley was neck and neck right through the 12-minute match.
“Extra time was needed and it was Grace Lang who scored in the last seconds to win the match and tournament for Inferno.
“The players, parents and coaches were all very emotional after such a great match. But the standard of netball has never been so high.
“We just want to thank all the clubs for coming and to the parents and coaches from the Inferno family that helped support the event on the day.
“These events are always great fundraisers for the club as after expenses we raised £400.”
