PNE owner laments injuries

Club chief: Trevor Hemmings

Club chief: Trevor Hemmings

Preston North End owner Trevor Hemmings believes injuries have played a key part in the club’s recent poor results.

Hemmings, who brought the club outright in 2010, was contacted by the Evening Post this week.

And in a short statement, Hemmings said: “We changed a lot of the team pre-season and they played very well at the start of the campaign.

“Sadly due to many injuries the side has become unsettled and performance has suffered, as illustrated by the game against Walsall.

“We have responded by getting a full-back on loan and recently another striker.

“Everyone at PNE is well aware of the need to start winning and remains committed to the project of taking the club forward.”
