Leyland and Chorley men’s 1sts forward Mark Collier hit Southport men’s 2nds for six as L&C stormed to a 10-0 home victory.

Collier scored a double hat-trick as Leyland ran riot against relegation-threatened Port at Buckshaw Village.

He netted three times from penalty corners and scored three more from open play as L&C cruised to a comfortable victory.

Robbie Unsworth was one away from completing his own hat-trick as he netted twice.

Matthew Wilson and Simon Myers completed the rout with two open-play strikes.

Despite the impressive result, L&C remain fifth in the North West Hockey League Division Three North table.

Leyland and Chorley men’s 2nds lost 3-1 at Lytham St Annes men’s 4ths.

The result leaves L&C ninth in the North West Hockey League Division Five North North table.

L&C men’s 3rds did not have a game.

The ladies’ 1sts did not play but remain top of the Lancashire Central Women’s Hockey League Premier Division, and the ladies 2nds also did not have a game.
