Garforth 0 AFC Fylde 3
Mark Wane made a sensational return as he scored twice in Fylde's FA Trophy first qualifying round win at Garforth.
Wane, back to the club earlier in the week from UniBond Premier Division side Kendal Town carried on where he had left off for Fylde in a game they dominated for long periods.
He opened the scoring after three minutes after clever play from Alex Porter, who cut back, Wane taking a touch before his clinical strike into the bottom right corner.
Porter had a great chance to make it 2-0 after full-back Matt Mahoney and Richie Allen combined on the right, Allen finding Porter in acres of space and with a one-on-one situation looked odds on to score but keeper Craig Ellison produced a good stop.
Fylde were taking the game to their hosts, who struggled to have any impact on Fylde's goal, with Stevenson rarely called into action.
Joe Booth had a chance before the break, Porter and Allen combining to set Booth free but from an acute angle but Ellison there to deny Fylde.
Garforth came out after the break looking to get a grip on the game but Fylde continued to play a fluent passing style and created better opportunities.
After the break, Stevenson's long kick wasn't dealt with by Garforth's defenders and Wane managed to latch on to the loose ball, only for Ellison to smother the ball.
Fylde kept up the pressure with three chances in a matter of minutes as they looked to kill the game.
Alex Porter hit the bar from his teasing cross and Garforth scrambled clear, the busy Ellison getting the better of foiled Fylde's top scorer with a one-on-one and then the keeper made a hash of a clearance which ricocheted off a Garforth defender for a near own goal.
It was only a matter of time for Fylde to score a killer second and that came when Allen intercepted a back pass and beat a defender to crash home for 2-0.
Wane capped a fine display for Fylde, scoring a late third, interchanging passes with sub Michael Barnes and applying a cool finish.
