Morecambe have bolstered their defensive options by re-signing Jordan Mustoe on loan from Wigan until the end of the season.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley has been eager to boost his squad as he looks to secure the club’s future in the Football League for a another year
Mustoe, aged 23, spent a happy three months at the Globe Arena in 2012 .
He has since had spells at Carlisle United, Bury and Wycombe.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: “We all know what Jordan is about.
“He has been here before and had a good spell.
“He knows all about us and how we play and he will be a very useful addition to the squad.”
The Shrimps have also signed versatile Machester United youngster Liam Grimshaw on a youth loan until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Bentley also heaped praise on Ryan Edwards, who has also arrived on loan from Blackburn Rovers.
The defender, who hails from Liverpool, has acquitted himself well in the last two games.
On Saturday, Morecambe battled to a 1-1 draw at home to Northampton before going down to a narrow 1-0 defeat at promotion favourites Chesterfield. Bentley revealed he is getting on particularly well with the fellow Liverpudlians in the group.
“Ryan’s been great and has come in no problem,” Bentley said.
“He’s gone straight into a car school with Kevin Ellison and Mark Hughes so it hasn’t been a problem for him.
“He’s a likeable lad, a good pro and he’s played well in the last two games for us.
“Hopefully he can be a good asset and continue to do well for the time that he’s here.”
Both Edwards and Mustoe are expected to feature tomorrow as the Shrimps look to pick up their first win in five games when they travel to Bristol Rovers.
