PNE keeper Jordan Pickford has already set a new club record.

Pickford added a 0-0 draw with Rotherham tonight to an opening day goalless draw with Middlesbrough and a 1-0 victory over MK Dons on Saturday.

The three results are the first time North End have ever kept three consecutive clean sheets in the first three league games of the season since the league started in 1888.

But the humble on-loan Sunderland shot-stopper praised the PNE defence for the clean slate.

He said: “It feels good I feel confident. I just need to keep playing well.

“I didn’t have many saves to make today so obviously the lads in front of me are doing their job and I am just doing what I need to do to like coming for crosses and kicking and that.”
