A Preston North End XI will face Lancaster City in a friendly at Giant Axe tonight (7pm).

The North End side is expected to contain some members of the first-team squad still in need of game time as well as youngsters from the Under-18s.

Tommy Spurr could feature as he continues his comeback from an ankle injury suffered earlier in the pre-season.

For PNE, it is the final run-out ahead of Saturday’s Championship opener at Reading.

Lancaster have another friendly at home to Northwich Victoria on Saturday before their NPL First Division North campaign kicks-off against Droylsden on August 13.

Admission to this evening’s game is £4 adults and £2 Under-16s and senior citizens.
