Preston North End have completed the signing of Barnsley defender Scott Wiseman.
The 28-year-old will be in the North End squad for Saturday’s game against Wolves at Molineux after signing an 18-month deal.
Wiseman said: “I knew what Preston was about before I came and heard the plans for the club.
“The place is geared for the Championship and we just need to complete the job. It’s a great stadium and fantastic to be part of it.”
Wiseman is a Gibraltar international, qualifying to play for the British territory because his mum was born there.
North End boss Simon Grayson said: “We looked at the situation and felt that the defensive area of the pitch was one we wanted to strengthen.
“He’s a versatile player who can play anywhere across the back four, as well as wing back.”
Wiseman, who turned down an offer from Blackpool to join PNE, has been given the No.32 shirt at Deepdale.
