Preston North End midfielder Alan Browne has signed a new two-year contract at Deepdale.
The 19-year-old made a big impression after breaking into the Lilywhites side in March, and that promise has been rewarded with the contract extension.
He had 12 months left on the deal he signed when he joined from Cork City in January, but the fresh terms means he is now contracted until the summer of 2016.
Browne, who will start pre-season training with his PNE team-mates on Thursday, said: “I am over the moon.
“I couldn’t have asked for much more, the past six months have went brilliantly for me and hopefully I can kick on.
“Getting in to the team towards the end of the season and getting to play in the play-offs, the manager has shown massive belief in me and helped my confidence a lot.”
Browne made five starts and four substitute appearances last season, his first goal in English football coming in April’s 6-1 demolition of Carlisle United.
