Eight-year-old Joshua Dickinson had a dream come true when his drawing of favourite Preston North End player Iain Hume adorned the walls’s of Deepdale.

The Lancashire Evening Post joined forces with SPAR, the sponsors of the family stand at Preston North End and asked our younger readers to send in drawings and paintings of their favourite player.

The standard of entries was staggeringly high, so Joshua and nine runners-up – Kian Burdekin, Savannah Moss, Hannah Maltby, Harry Orton, Christian Bolton, Natisha Ashworth, Ben Coar, Charlotte Piercy and Jack Burrow – got to meet the players and see their winning entries on display at the stadium.

The family stand at North End is sponsored by James Hall & Co Ltd, SPAR distributor for the North of England.
