Preston North End boss Simon Grayson has the January blues after PNE’s ‘horror’ month.
Rock-bottom Crawley ensured PNE ended January on a sour note as they beat Grayson’s men 2-1 today.
PNE started the month with a 2-0 FA Cup victory over Championship club Norwich but since then the club’s fortunes - and finishing - has taken a turn for the worse.
North End have not won in their last seven matches, crashed out of the JPT Northern Area Final and have taken two points off the bottom three clubs in their last three league fixtures.
And Grayson admitted his men are struggling in front of goal.
He said: “We can’t buy a goal except for set-pieces at the moment in time.
“We didn’t do enough in the final third.
“It has been a tough month for us.
“January has been a horrible time dropping as many points as we have.
“It has not been an easy month for everyone connected with the football club but there are two ways you can go.
“You either bury your head in the sand and sort of accept the situation.
“Or you can stick your chest out and make sure you overcome this difficulty.”
