Preston North End have been drawn away to Oldham Athletic in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy northern area quarter final.

The visit to Boundary Park will be in the week beginning November 10.

PNE clinched their place in this round thanks to Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over Port Vale, Chris Humphrey, Joe Garner and Paul Gallagher on target.

Last season, North End and Oldham met in the second round of the JPT with Oldham winning 2-0 at Deepdale.

The draw means that PNE have four midweek away games in a row – they visit Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Swindon and Oldham.
