Kevin Davies is predicting a ‘fantastic’ clash between Preston North End and Wolves in League One’s match of the day on Saturday.
The 36-year-old is likely to lead PNE’s attack at Molineux, having netted his fourth goal of the season in the FA Cup draw with Ipswich at the weekend.
Davies said: “It should be a fantastic game for the clubs.
“If we can get a good result down there then we can keep the pressure on the top two Brentford and Leyton Orient, who are flying at the moment. We are taking 3,500 fans there and hopefully they will enjoy themselves.
“As a team we are doing well at the moment – we have only lost one game since October.
“I probably expected Wolves to be a few points clear at the top of the table by now but that hasn’t happened.
“We will go there confident because we have been playing really well away from home. We have one of the best away records in our division.”
Davies (right) enjoyed his visit to Molineux with Bolton two seasons ago. He scored Wanderers’ winner in a 3-2 Premier League victory in March 2012.
PNE and Wolves met on the opening day of the season, drawing 0-0, one of six games picked to mark the 125th anniversary of the Football League.
