Preston North End have signed Manchester United striker Will Keane on a season-long loan in readiness for their return to the Championship.
The 22-year-old striker will wear the No.9 shirt at Deepdale and adds to the firepower available to PNE boss Simon Grayson.
He is the third summer signing at Deepdale after Jermine Beckford and Paul Gallagher turned loan moves into permanent deals.
Keane has been with United since he was a schoolboy but his only first-team appearance for the Red Devils came in December 2011.
But he has since played 28 league games during loan spells with Wigan, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday.
After putting pen to paper, Keane said: “I’m really excited to be here and I’m looking forward to the new season and the challenge ahead.
“I want to come here and do my best to help the team.
“They had a very successful year last year and hopefully the whole club and the team can build on that this season.”
Grayson said: “We are delighted to have signed Will. He has got fantastic movement and he is a goalscorer.
“He suffered a bad injury a few years ago, but he is hungry and after meeting him he ticks every box we are looking for.
“We have pulled off a bit of a coup beating several other Championship clubs to him and I do feel he is going to be a major asset to our squad.”
