Preston North End midfielder Keith Keane has extended his loan spell at Stevenage Borough until the end of the season.

The midfielder teamed up again with former PNE boss and current Boro manager Graham Westley at the beginning of March.

“Everyone at Preston North End would like to wish Keith all the very best at Stevenage.”

Westley signed Keane for North End in June 2012 from Luton Town but after making 77 appearances for the Lilywhites Keane has failed to force his way into PNE boss Simon Grayson’s first team plans this term.

Keane is out of contract at the end of the season and has not played a game for North End this term.

The midfielder enjoyed a fourth month, 93 day, loan spell with Crawley Town earlier in the season that ended in December.

And now the 28-year-old has now decided to stick with Westley and the League Two club until the end of the campaign.

A spokesman for PNE said: “Keane has received the regular game time he had been craving at Stevenage, featuring five times.
