Preston North End central defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has extended his loan spell at Burton Albion until the end of the season.
The Australian initially joined the Brewers on loan in September and has helped them climb into League Two promotion contention.
With Cansdell-Sherriff out of contract in the summer, the loan extension effectively ends his stay with the Lilywhites.
He signed for North End in July 2012 on a Bosman after leaving Shrewsbury Town.
During the first half of last season he was a regular at the heart of PNE’s defence.
But Cansdell-Sherriff fell out of favour with former manager Graham Westley and was loaned out to Rochdale in January for the remainder of the campaign.
He returned to Deepdale in the summer but could not force his way into Simon Grayson’s first-team plans.
