Christmas is set to come early for Chorley fans as boss Matt Jansen is hoping to unveil another new addition before the Boxing Day clash against AFC Fydle.

Jansen snapped up the services of central defender Liam Goulding on a 28-day loan from Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

And the Magpes boss says he is aiming to add to his squad over the next few weeks.

He said: “I’m hoping one or two additions can come to fruition over the next couple of weeks.”

Chorley drew 2-2 with National League North leaders Nuneaton on Saturday and 13th-placed Chorley host second-placed Fylde on Saturday.

He said: “We were a lot more resolute. It was a really professional performance, we haven’t always got what we have deserved this season and so I’m delighted with a point.

“We have done well against AFC Fylde in recent years and we are hoping to do well again.”

Captain Andy Teague bagged his first goal of the campaign and says the lads have a renewed confidence after the performance at Nuneaton.

He said: “I’m disappointed not to have got all three points but it is a good point.

“It has taken me a while to get my first goal but the result is more important.

“We play Fylde twice and Harrogate in the space of a week now but we are high on confidence.

“We want to pick up our form, go on a run now and get back up into the play-offs.”

The new roof is up at Victory Park just in time for Saturday’s clash.

A spokesman for the club said: “The club would like to thank everyone involved in getting the new roof in place.

“From the contractors, volunteers, local businesses, all those who donated via the Crowdfunder and finally to our mystery benefactor whose timely and unexpected help got us over the finishing line a lot sooner that was expected.”

Holders Chorley’s Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy semi-final opponents have been unveiled as North West Counties side Colne.
