Lancaster City boss Darren Peacock knows exactly why his side have undergone a remarkable revival in 2015.

The Dolly Blues kept another clean sheet in their 1-0 win at high-flying Northwich Victoria on Saturday with their sixth win in seven lifting them in to the top half of the NPL First Division North.

Peacock said: “We’ve kept more clean sheets in a month than we have in the rest of the season.

“Everybody in the side has a part to play defensively from front to back.

“It’s been really pleasing recently and we’ve proved a clean sheet goes a long way when it comes to getting a result.

“It’s what we’re trying to do and hopefully it’s going to be the case for the rest of the season.”

Struggling Prescot Cables are the visitors to Giant Axe tomorrow, before Peacock takes his side to Farsley on Tuesday night for their Doodson Sport Cup quarter-final.

He said: “Prescot are fighting for their lives and we won’t be taking them lightly.

“The cup draw could have been kinder but the Farsley game gives us another chance to show what we’re made of.

“Our confidence is sky
high.

“You can see it in training with the lads laughing and joking and taking the mick. That’s what comes with winning and we’re just striving to keep that consistency going.”

The win at Northwich was perhaps the most satisfying of City’s fine start to 2015.

He said: “Northwich are up near the top but I don’t think they’re outstanding, just effective.

“I feel we’ve got more talent in the dressing room than most of the teams in this league.

“It’s just about applying it and that’s what we’re doing. We started slowly on Saturday but we were great in the second half and had three or four chances for another
goal.

“It was a good all-round performance.”

Lee Dodgson is struggling with a hamstring problem while Tom Kilifin will miss the Prescot game due to a prior engagement.

The striker should return to the squad against Farsley on Tuesday.
