Charnock Richard lifted the Richardson Cup for the fifth time last Wednesday after beating Garstang 4-1 at the County Ground.

Holders Charnock made a record eighth appearance in the cup final and equalled Kirkham and Wesham’s trophy haul record with the fine victory.

West Lancashire League Premier Division title chasing Richard took the lead in the 39th minute.

Lewis Swarbrick’s right-wing corner was nodded onto the bar by Carl Grimshaw and tapped in by David Fisher.

Grimshaw made it two in the 43rd minute and made it 3-0 in the 50th minute. Oscar Panepinto pulled a goal back for Garstang but David Prout’s deflected 74th minute strike wrapped up the win.
