Bamber Bridge ended their home league campaign on a high with an emphatic victory 5-1 victory over Droylsden.

listair Waddecar netted a hat-trick, while substitute Curtis Thompson scored a delightful chip midway through the second half.

Before the break, Glenn Steel’s header put Brig two up, before the Bloods’ Danny Parkinson halved the arrears on 48 minutes.

Waddecar opened the scoring when he ran on to Adam Dodd’s flick-on before lifting the ball over Tom Hunt to open the scoring.

It soon became 2-0 when George Bowyer’s inswinging ball found an unmarked Steel, who nodded home to give Brig breathing space.

Chris Marlow should have further increased Brig’s lead, shooting wide of the post, before Droylsden’s Billy Hasler-Cregg wasted his own opportunity at the other end.

Droylsden hit back quickly after the break when Edmunson-Rouse did well to fight off the attentions of Paul Alexander, before playing in Parkinson, who fluffed his lines with the finish but benefited from a lucky rebound to see the ball trickle past Lee Dovey and into the net.

Waddecar restored the two-goal advantage within 10 minute and Brig added gloss to the victory with two further goals.

First Thompson chipped Hunt from 20 yards, before Waddecar secured another treble, assisted once again by Regan Linney.

The last 15 minutes passed largely without incident, save for the red card shown to Edmunson-Rouse for a late challenge on Stuart Vasey.
