Spurs value England striker at £18m
Tottenham Hotspur have slapped a massive £18 million price tag on striker Darren Bent, The Mirror has reported.
The former Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town frontman has struggled recapture the form that earned him a 16.5 million move to White Hart Lane two years ago.
He has been strongly linked with a move to Sunderland, managed by ex Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is said to be demanding a healthy return on the player.
It is believed Bruce was hoping to pay 12m for the pacy front runner – and partner him with another England strike star, Portsmouth's Peter Crouch.
Meanwhile midfielder Tom Huddlestone is set to leave Spurs after the club accepted three bids of 8.5m for the England Under-21 star.
Everton, Sunderland and Aston Villa are the sides chasing Huddlestone, who has lost his first-team place.
