Morecambe midfielder Aaron Wildig’s loan from Shrewsbury has been extended until the end of the season.

The former Cardiff man has featured in all seven matches since joining the Shrimps from the Shrews last month where he made just one appearance this season.

The 23-year-old has played a big part in the centre of midfield aiding in the build-up to goals scored at Exeter and Bury, as well as assisting Paul Mullin’s goal at York last week.

The loan extension means Wildig will be available for Morecambe’s trip to Wycombe this Saturday and the final game of the season against Southend at The Globe Arena on May 2.

Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: “Aaron’s a good lad and he’s been a great addition to the squad over the past month.

“He’s a good player and it’s obviously nice to have him for the remaining two games of the season.”
