Morecambe 2 Chesterfield 2

A late equaliser by Rene Howe earned Morecambe a point at Christie Park.

Stewart Drummond fired Morecambe ahead after just six minutes with a fine 25-yard strike.

But Chesterfield hit back with two goals in just six minutes.

First Gregor Robertson powered home from close range on 16 minutes.

Then Jim Bentley fouled Jack Lester in the box and Jamie Ward stroked home from the spot.

Howe equalised with five minutes left on the clock with a close range finish and almost snatched a winner at the death but headed wide.

Morecambe: Roche, McCann, Artell, Bentley, Parrish, O'Carroll, Stanley, Hunter, Twiss, Drummond, Howe.

Subs: Davies, Curtis, Wainwright, Taylor, McStay
