The Cherries, who escaped relegation despite a 17-point deduction, were out of sight by half-time at Christie Park.

Joel Ward gave the visitors the perfect start when he headed in Danny Hollands' in-swinging corner after just seven minutes.

Liam Feeney and Brett Pitman extended the advantage before the break with two fine strikes.

Bournemouth secured a crushing final day win when Pitman grabbed his second on 69 minutes.

Morecambe finished a worthy 11th in League Two.
