Exeter City 2 Morecambe 2

Morecambe's faint play-off hopes died after a hard earned point dented Exeter's promotion party.

The Shrimps gave their hosts a huge fright when they went in at half time 1-0 up but it was Stuart Drummond's second goal 13 minutes from time that ensured the visitors had something to smile about on the long journey home.

The Grecians went into the game knowing that a win would elevate them into League One with a game to spare if other results went their way.

But within eight minuted the huge crowd of 8,500 was silenced when Drummond headed home from a free kick he had earned.

The foul was awarded against Cozic who was booked and Michael Twiss whipped in the free kick which was headed home by Drummond.

The visitors held on until half time but it was after the break that the game really came to life.

Dean Moxey brought the home side level when he fired in from close range in the 49th minute.

The crowd was sent into raptures three minutes later when Ryan Harley put City 2-1 up when he fired into the bottom left hand corner from inside the penalty area.

But Morecambe earned their point when City gave away another free kick when Taylor fouled Wayne Curtis. Twiss again fired a ball into the box to find a grateful Drummond who drilled the ball home from close range.
