PNE will host Premier League side Bournemouth at Deepdale in the third round of the League Cup.

The tie gives Simon Grayson’s men another chance to cause another upset after they dumped Bournemouth’s fellow Premier League outfit Watford out of the second round earlier this evening.

The Lilywhites triumphed 1-0 at Deepdale thanks to Marnick Vermijl’s eighth minute strike.

Miguel Britos was shown a straight red for allegedly elbowing PNE defender Bailey Wright in the face in the 76th minute as North End cruised into the third round.

Now PNE will host Eddie Howe’s Premiership new boys - who trounced League Two side Hartlepool 4-0 in their second round clash - sometime in the week commencing September 21.
