Preston North End have loaned out goalkeeper Jamie Jones and defender Ben Davies.
Jones, 26, has joined Colchester United on a 93-day loan, while Davies has gone to Southport for a month in search of first-team experience.
This is the third time Jones has gone out on loan from Preston, having had spells with Coventry City and Rochdale last season.
After joining North End from Leyton Orient in June 2014, he was the first-choice goalkeeper until November when he lost his place to Thorsten Stuckmann.
The arrival of Sam Johnstone in January pushed him further down the pecking order.
This season, he has been third-choice behind Jordan Pickford and Chris Kirkland.
Jones’ loan with Colchester runs until December 12 and is for the maximum 93 days allowed during the Football League’s emergency loan window.
Defender Davies will get some much-needed football under his belt at Southport, his one appearance for PNE this season coming as a substitute against Crewe in the Capital One Cup last month.
After starting last season as North End’s first-choice left-back, Davies’ progress has stalled somewhat.
Davies played at Southport on Monday night in PNE’s Lancashire Senior Cup tie against Everton, skippering the side.
