MEET THE BOSS:

Paul Lambert will be in charge of Blackburn for the first time when they visit Deepdale to play Preston.

The 46-year-old Scotsman was appointed Rovers boss on Sunday, succeeding the sacked Gary Bowyer. He had been out of the game since leaving Aston Villa nine months ago. This is the sixth club which Lambert has managed, Livingston, Wycombe, Colchester, Norwich and Villa the others on his CV. As a player, he turned out for St Mirren, Motherwell, Borussia Dortmund, Celtic and Livingston, playing more than 600 games.

MEET THE REF:

Premier League referee Mike Dean will be in charge of PNE’s derby with Rovers. The last Preston game he officiated was the FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest in January 2014. This is just the second game which Mr Dean has refereed outside of the top flight this season.
