Preston North End have completed the loan signing of Craig Davies from Bolton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old striker has signed until the end of May, and joined in time to be available for selection for Saturday’s clash with Notts County at Deepdale.
Davies will wear the No.17 shirt during his loan spell and is keenly awaiting the challenge of forcing his way into the North End side.
He said: “I am looking forward to getting plenty of games under my belt. It has been a while since I played a few games in a row so hopefully I can do that here.
“I have been a bit unfortunate the first part of the season through injury, but hopefully the second half of the season I can do really well and play a lot of games for Preston and help push for promotion.”
PNE manager Simon Grayson had been looking to bolster the fire power in his squad, and thanked club owner Trevor Hemmings for helping to make the deal for Wales international Davies to happen.
Grayson said: “Craig will add further quality and competition for us in the busy period we have between now and the end of the season.
“The fact we have been able to sign a player who has been starting at a Championship club shows our intentions and I am grateful to Mr Hemmings for allowing us again improve the options we have available to us.”
Burton-born Davies was a £300,000 signing by Bolton from Barnsley just over 12 months ago, but hasn’t been able to nail down a regular place in the Trotters’ side.
