Blackburn’s Marcus Olsson has revealed he is yet to enter discussions with the club over extending his current contract.

Olsson, who has been with Rovers since 2012, signed a deal in January with Rovers through to the end of this season.

Asked about holding talks over extending his stay beyond that, the 27-year-old Sweden international said: “I haven’t done it yet.

“I was hoping there was going to be some discussions in the summer but there hasn’t been anything at all.

“I’ll just keep on playing, not think about it much and just see what happens.”

Olsson has been linked with a move to Blackburn’s Championship rivals Derby.

Jose Semedo is concerned frontman Lucas Joao could leave Sheffield Wednesday in the near future, as he is so talented. Joao only moved to Wednesday in the summer transfer window, but he has already made a huge impression at Hillsborough. The Portuguese striker has quickly broken into the Owls’ starting line-up, and Semedo feels that there is only so long Wednesday will be able to keep hold of him, without top level football. “I don’t believe he will be that long for us because I think the giants will be wanting him soon,” Semedo said. “Obviously I want the best for my club and I hope he can take us to the big stage.”

Leroy Fer says QPR can kick-start their season with a positive result at the Riverside on Friday night.

Fer accepts Boro will be big favourites but says the visitors have a strong enough squad to spring a surprise.

Rangers were fancied as promotion candidates before a ball was kicked but languish in the bottom half of the table and recently sacked boss Chris Ramsey.

The experienced Neil Warnock was placed in charge until a permanent replacement is named and is looking for his first win after the stalemate at home to Preston before the international break.

Fer said: “Boro have started the season well, very well.

“They’re higher in the league than we are at the moment and they play at home. But we are a strong team as well and we will be going there to try and win.”
