Euxton Bolts celebrated their first season in the League with an emphatic 6-1 win over Preston South End to win the Lancashire Sunday League President’s Cup at Bamber Bridge’s Irongate Stadium.
The sides were evenly matched in the early stages with Euxton clearing off the line, then South End rattling the woodwork and a long range effort by Dalmeida going narrowly wide.
The deadlock was eventually broken in the 40th minute when a defensive mix-up allowed Lucas Gaynor to chip the keeper and put Euxton ahead.
And Lucas scored his second on the stroke of half-time to give Euxton Bolts a comfortable 2-0 cushion.
Matt Elliott made it 3-0 to Euxton straight from the restart before man of the match Gaynor completed his hat trick on 55 minutes.
And Gaynor went one better by adding his fourth on 63 minutes to make it 5-0 to Euxton.
However straight from the kick off Martin Winters managed to pull one back for South End.
But Bolts’ Matt Elliott completed the scoring on 78 minutes to make the final score 6-1.
