New Farington House won the Lancashire Sunday League Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup, coming back from 3-1 down to beat New Longton Rovers in a pulsating final at Bamber Bridge’s Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
New Longton went in front after three minutes when Kyle Chambers fired home.
But New Farington were quick to counter with an equaliser from a corner two minutes later, claimed by Byron Andrew.
In the second half, New Longton captain Shane Oldfield’s penalty made it 2-1 and they added a third in the 74th minute.
Zack Wilkes replied for NFH, then Dylan Agnew levelled it at 3-3.
And almost immediately from the restart, Adam Smith headed the winner.
League President Dave Carlisle presented the cup and medals to the teams on behalf of the sponsors the Syndicate Trust.
Referee Ed Duckworth had replaced James Sheppard at short notice after he picked up an injury 24 hours earlier.
He was ably assisted by Paul Jackson and Mark Otto and fourth official Mark Moore.
