Longridge Cricket Club are looking to build upon the success of last summer, which saw five senior and a host of junior sides win titles, promotions and trophies galore.
This season there are high hopes for the first team as skipper Ian Simpson continues to build a squad to battle it out at the top of the Palace Shield Premier Division.
Last season, Longridge finished fourth in the top flight, behind champions Vernon Carus, runners-up Penwortham and Freckleton.
They had a huge derby on the opening day of the season against Fulwood and Broughton followed by a mouth-watering tie in the National Knockout away to Chorley.
Simpson said: “Robbie Lambert has joined from the Northern League to strengthen the batting.
“I’m looking for a similar year to last year with good cup runs and if we can put in good shows against the teams around us, we have a strong chance of winning the league.
“All we have to do is work hard as we have been doing the last 10 weeks and more importantly enjoy ourselves”
The second team once again will be led by Nick Wilkinson in his first season as captain.
Last summer almost claimed the Division One title, finishing runners-up to Vernon Carus 2nds.
Wilkinson said: “Josh Mullin, Oliver Lewis and Alex Mason came up through the ranks last season and will have key roles to play this summer.
“We finished with seven wins on the bounce last year and I am looking to keep that run going.”
