Chorley head to Cumbria as they look to stay hot on the heels of Netherfield at the top of the Northern League.

Andrew Holdsworth’s men face Kendal at Shap Road and need to stay on the winning trail to ensure Netherfield do not surge further ahead.

Netherfield hold a 24-point lead at the top, having won nine of their 12 games.

Chorley make the trip up the M6 in good heart after beating Penrith by 32 runs last week.

That win owed much to the display of Edwin Moulton, who struck an unbeaten 73 and then took two wickets.

It has been a big summer for the teenager who has been in Lancashire second XI.

Skipper Holdsworth also caught the eye in last week’s victory, hitting 49 off just 41 balls.

Tucked in just behind Chorley in the title chase are St Annes who have really found their form this season.

Only a point separates the two clubs, with St Annes also heading north tomorrow to take on Penrith.

Just lately, Leyland have fallen off the title pace and they will be looking to rectify that this weekend.

They have been hit by the unavailability of some key players recently.

David Makinson’s men have a home game against Preston at Fox Lane.

Visitors Preston have been steady enough this summer, putting three wins on the board.

Last week, they claimed a creditable draw at Morecambe, bringing 10 points back from Woodhill Lane.

Fifth-place Blackpool host strugglers Morecambe
at Stanley Park, while Lancaster welcome Barrow to Lune Road.

Northern League: Blackpool v Morecambe, Fleetwood v Netherfield, Kendal v Chorley, Lancaster v Barrow, Penrith v St Annes, Preston v Leyland.
