There was no play on the second day of the Specsavers County Championship between Lancashire and Middlesex at Southport.


Lancashire had been due to resume their second innings on 123-4, still 57 runs in arrears of Middlesex’s first innings total but with Shivnarine Chanderpaul unbeaten on 32 and Dane Vilas on 24 not out.

However, rain on Saturday put paid to any action,

The Northern Premier League clash between Penrith and Fleetwood was called off without a ball being bowled - St Annes versus Morecambe was also abandoned.
