Lancashire Evening Post Reader Panel

Hello. Im the Editor of the Lancashire Evening Post and Id like your help. I like to think that the LEP is at the heart of life in Lancashire but its the views of local people like you that really matters. Ive set up a Reader Panel to help you share your views with me. Would you please join the Panel?

By joining the panel and giving your views, you can directly contribute to the development of the LEP and ensure we produce the best possible newspaper and website based on what you want. Maybe you want more sports coverage or think we need to improve our letters pages? Maybe theres an issue in your neighbourhood that you think we should be campaigning about, or perhaps you simply want to let us know when weve done something well or not so well?

If you register as a panellist, Ill email you with a short questionnaire every now and then. Its a quick and easy way for you to share your opinions with me. You can opt out of the Panel at any time but I hope youll find it an interesting experience as Ill share with you the feedback I get from the Panel.

Please join the Panel and make your voice heard. Just click here.

Yours faithfully,
Gillian Gray

What it's all about

Our Reader Panel is open to anybody who ever reads the Lancashire Evening Post newspaper or visits the LEP website. It doesnt matter how often you read the newspaper or visit the site youre eligible to join the panel if you care about the local area and read the Lancashire Evening Post (in print or online) every now and then.

But whats the Panel all about? Basically, by joining the panel, youre giving us the opportunity to contact you every now and then to ask your thoughts and views. Well ask you questions about the newspaper and website; for example, we might ask what you think about a particular section of the newspaper, how you rate a particular columnist or how interested you are in some changes were considering. Well also ask for your thoughts and views on whats happening in our area. Were proud to stand up for Preston and wed appreciate your help in making sure were focusing on the issues that matter to you.

The Panel works like this

  • People register to join the Panel
  • We send them a short survey, via email or post (we prefer email), to learn a bit more about each Panel member
  • We then send out further short surveys every now and then to the Panel. At the same time, we try to share the results of the last survey with the Panel.

If you join the Panel, youre not obliged to take part in the research (but we obviously hope you will!). Why not sign up today and you can see for yourself what its all about?

If you join the Panel but later decide you dont want to take part, thats fine just tell us and well stop contacting you.

What's in it for you

If you join our Reader Panel, we hope youll find it a fun experience. Whilst well certainly touch on some serious subjects in our surveys, well try to make it very easy for you to share your views with us and in a way that might be quite entertaining. To show our appreciation, we enter Panel members into Prize Draws to win various prizes and we give members access to all sorts of freebies, to thank them for their involvement.

We also share the survey results with Panel members. That way they can see the impact of their feedback on the newspaper and website.

Possibly the best reason to get involved is this - you can influence the content and tone of the Lancashire Evening Post, your local newspaper and website. Thats got to be a good thing! Were proud to serve the people of Preston and well continue to stand up for whats best for the area. Join our Panel and you can help with our mission.
