Preston is on the brink of a bright, new future.
The Lancashire city is poised for £700m facelift - doubling the size of its shopping centre.

And the countdown is under way to the Guild 2012 celebrations.

They are just two of the many reasons for Britain's newest city to live up to its Proud Preston motto.

To mark these key moments in our history, the Lancashire Evening Post is planning a major celebration of city life.

And we want our readers to join us at the heart of our Preston & Proud initiative.

Tell us here what makes you proud to be a Prestonian, what you love about the city and what makes it a great place to live and work.

We want to hear about the people, places, sport and businesses which make you proud.

Send us pictures and video of your favourite corner of the city or a proud memory of local life.

And leave your comments below on what you think should be highlighted as part of what makes you Preston & Proud.

Well LEP, when are you going to post the replies to your question of Proud Preston ? I see from your ballot that fully two thirds of the voters have informed you that they are not Proud of Preston. It would be interesting to read the different points of view so how about posting the replies. ??
