Reality show stars will help light up Flag Market

Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton will be flicking the switch on Preston's Christmas Lights this year.
She will be joined by 2007 X Factor finalists Same Difference for the spectacular on the city's Flag Market on Wednesday November 19.

New girlband Velvet Kiss, made up of former contestants of reality show Shipwrecked, will also appear.

Big Brother nine's Stephanie McMichael will put in an appearance at the event, organised by Rock FM and The North and Western Chamber of Commerce.

Nikki Murray, Rock FM's event manager, said: "The whole team behind the event have been working hard over the past six months to ensure we present an event to beat that of 2007 and are more than satisfied that we have done that."

The fun starts at 5.30pm and the switch-on takes place at 7.30pm.

Come off it, Preston Loyal. You and I probably wouldn't turn up to see the Christmas lights turned on even if they got the biggest stars in the world to do it. It's for kids, and for them these people are a reasonable draw. Plus, they're cheap.
