Preston North End defender Sean St Ledger could give Alan Irvine a selection headache for the final game of the season on Sunday.
He is making a rapid recovery from the hamstring strain which forced him to miss the 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town.

St Ledger has been back in training at Springfields and looking a possibility for the trip to Ashton Gate.

And that could prove a teaser for Irvine after handing Neal Trotman his debut last Saturday.

He said: "Sean looks as if he is going to be available, which is great.
"I didn't think we'd see him again this season when he limped off at Plymouth.

"But he trained with the lads yesterday and he came through fine.
"Chris Brown also trained without a reaction to his return to the side. So fingers crossed they should both be fine."

If St Ledger comes through the rest of the week unscathed, then he is likely to be part of the 16 at Ashton Gate.

But Irvine insists he will not make any decisions on his starting line-up until later in the week then he has seen more of his squad.

With Billy Jones ruled out of the final game, Michael Hart will continue at right-back.

But Irvine must decide whether to keep Trotman in the centre of the back-four alongside Youl Mawene, or bring St Ledger back in place of a player who is inexperienced at Championship level.

Play the St with Trotman, leave Youl on bench instead of Matt...Replace Beattie for Karl and give him a debut.

Nothing to do with this article, but the LEP hasn't mentioned anything about the revised season ticket details on the BSK. A big well done to Derek for listening to the fans, and I hope the people who were so incensed at the loss of their reserved seat will now be equally expressive in their appreciation. Somehow I doubt it - PNE fans are much better at moaning than saying thanks.

in 1938 it was proud preston .and before that it was the invincibles .Well if we start to think those thoughts now .Things could return .The return of the invincibles .I think totenham tried to use that nickname some years ago .but we were the first and therefore we would own the title .now we have a stand called invincibles .There was a time when all the fans were proud waving things in the air and other teams felt the heat .If you dont have proud comments to make we dont want you !

In response to post 2, as one of the season ticket holders on the Kop who lobbied the club for a change in their reserved season ticket policy, I guess I constitute one of the ‘moaners’ he mentions. Strange really … I thought being turfed out seats we’d had for years (without any notification or consultation) was a pretty legitimate grievance, as did Derek when he personally told us that he would do everything he could to resolve the matter. Yes, I’d like to express my personal thanks to North End for reversing the decision, and in particular to Derek, who not only listened to us, but agreed with all our concerns. I’ve nothing but praise for the way he’s personally responded to this issue, and I know he did everything he could to come up with a solution. But has it occurred to PNE Pepe (and the other regular contributors to this site that dismissed our concerns) that the swiftness of the club’s response is a reflection of the legitimacy of our complaint? As for being a ‘moaner’, I’ve given the club my unwavering support for 30-odd years now, and never complained about the club in a public forum like this before, and probably never will again. I’ll leave that to the ‘regulars’ …
