Preston North End old boy Michael Jackson is out of the big Lancashire derby against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road next month after tearing his hamstring.
The 34-year-old Blackpool skipper, who limped off at Ipswich last weekend, has been told he will be out for up to six weeks following a scan.

Jackson captained the Seasiders to victory against his old club in December and was looking forward to facing North End again on march 15.

Manager Simon Grayson said: "Jacko is out for a lengthy period which is disappointing because he was doing well."

Jackson turned out almost 300 times for Preston between 1997 and 2004. He joined Blackpool in the summer of 2006 after a two-year spell at Tranmere.

Jacko is a PNE legend...he deservedly got a rapturous reception at PNE, and all being well this time his absence will help us to a crucial and on the basis of last time a deserved 3 points!!!

Jacko puts our current crop of gutless shysters to shame; only Davidson, St Ledge, Mawene and Brown have any heart.
The rest of this self-pitying squad of deadbeats don't give a chuff and are merely going through the motions. Slow motion in Sedgwick's case.
I hope they read this, because that's how it looks ladies.
Oh for a Gregan, Kidd, JT, Rankine or Grezza to show some REAL fight for the North End cause.
