Preston North End have appointed Andy Rhodes as goalkeeping coach.
The former Barnsley and Oldham keeper replaces Dave Timmins, who has been allowed to return to his former club Carlisle United.

Rhodes, who played more than 400 games during his 15-year career, left his role at Ipswich Town to join Alan Irvine's backroom staff.

"Everyone has spoken highly about Andy as coach and a person, which is very important," Irvine told the club's website.

I think this is an excellent move by Irvine. He is bringing in a goalie coach that will no doubtedly improve our Andy and who has worked with some of teh best in teh business.

He has played at the top level and so knows what is required by the Keeper and why it is such an importnt area.

Thanks to Timmins for his work but i feel that this appointment will help push us onto the next level and hopefully help Andrew cut out the silly mistakes that occasionally crop up.
