Billy Jones will return to his old stomping ground in pre-season after Preston North End announced their latest confirmed friendly will be against Crewe.
The 21-year-old is going back to the Alexandra Stadium a year after he moved to Deepdale in a deal that could eventually be worth up to £1m for the League One club.

North End have agreed to play the Railwaymen on the Saturday before the new season gets underway – August 2 with a 3pm kick-off.

The game brings to eight the number of warm-up fixtures so far announced by boss Alan Irvine, with Chorley, Bamber Bridge, Morecambe, Everton and Carlisle also arranged, plus two training matches organised against local opposition during a stint in Austria.

Irvine looks set to reveal a ninth game in the next few days, expected to be away at a Scottish Premier League club.
