Tom Duerden speaks to Alan Irvine ahead of Crystal Palace's visit to Deepdale
Preston North End boss Alan Irvine hailed the club's new Invincibles Pavilion stand as an 'incredible achievement' ahead of Crystal Palace's visit on Saturday.
The Lilywhites take on Palace on the back of two straight wins but with Brett Ormerod a fresh injury doubt.
Ross Wallace is expected to be named in the starting XI as PNE aim to make it three wins out of three with confidence in the camp sky high.
Speaking about the new-look Deepdale, Irvine said: "To have transformed Deepdale from what it was 12 years ago into what it is now is an absolutely amazing achievenment by the chairman and by the members of the board."
After praising chairman Derek Shaw, Irvine added: "They've built an absolutely magnificent stadium and its lovely to see its been completed at last, it must seem like a long, long time for Derek."
With Palace in mind, Irvine said confidence in the camp is high and that the players were in a good frame of mind.
He said: "We went into the Ipswich game feeling good about ourselves. Winning in the Carling Cup when we haven't done so in previous years was great too, its meant everyone's feeling very good about themselves right now."
One player in particular who's impressed Irvine is former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor.
When asked whether the target man had come back a better player this term, he said: "He's come back a fitter player. He's a terrific player anyway, his problem was he didn't believe he could get through 90 minutes at high intensity, now he knows he can."
